With India’s healthcare startup ecosystem expanding rapidly, how can deep-tech ideas move faster from labs to markets? UST has signed an MoU with the IIT Madras Incubation Cell to support high-impact startups in healthcare and life sciences, combining mentorship, funding support, and industry partnerships.

Partnership to accelerate innovation

UST has entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding with the IIT Madras Incubation Cell (IITMIC). The partnership aims to support deep-tech startups developing breakthrough solutions in healthcare and life sciences.

Under the MoU, UST and IITMIC will work together through joint programmes, close engagement with incubated startups, and industry collaborations. The focus is on identifying promising ventures, providing structured mentorship and targeted funding, and helping them scale pilots, proofs of concept, and go-to-market opportunities.

Pitch to win: Pharma 4.0 winners announced

As the first joint initiative, UST and IITMIC, along with Pfizer as Knowledge Partner and AWS as Technology Partner, conducted the Pitch to Win: Pharma 4.0 innovation challenge. The programme attracted over 90 applications from startups across 32 Indian cities.

UST – IIMIC Pitch to Win Pharma 4.0 First Runner Up

After a month of mentorship, the top ten finalists pitched at IITMIC in Chennai. The top three winners were Nucleo-Vir Therapeutics (Winner), ChemBioSens (First Runner-Up), and LN Infosphere Tech Transformers (Second Runner-Up). They received cash awards of Rs 1.25 lakh, Rs 75,000, and Rs 50,000 respectively, along with conditional funding support of up to Rs 45 lakh and strategic go-to-market assistance from UST.
