Blinq Mobility Pvt. Ltd., an electric mobility startup, has raised ₹4.3 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by 8i Ventures. The round also saw participation from IIMA Ventures, AIC Banasthali Vidyapith, and a group of angel investors.
According to the company, the funds will be used to support product development, vehicle prototyping, battery-swapping infrastructure development, and pilot fleet deployments focused on high-utilization urban mobility use cases.
Blinq Mobility is developing electric passenger vehicles (4-wheeler) designed for battery swapping. Unlike conventional electric cars that rely on plug-in charging, the company’s vehicles are designed to allow battery replacement within a short time. The company stated that this approach is intended to reduce vehicle downtime and support continuous operation, particularly for fleet-based applications.
The startup is building modular electric vehicles where the battery is treated as a separate asset from the vehicle. This model, the company said, is aimed at improving vehicle utilization and lowering operational constraints for fleet operators.
As part of its plans, Blinq Mobility intends to advance modular vehicle engineering and product development, validate autonomous battery-swapping systems, complete vehicle certification and homologation, and deploy pilot fleets in campuses and controlled environments. The company also plans to conduct pilot programs with fleet operators and ride-hailing platforms and expand its engineering and operations teams.

Blinq Mobility was founded by a team with experience in electric vehicles, battery systems, and automotive engineering. Founder and CEO Nikesh Bisht is an IIT Delhi graduate and former CTO of Vecmocon Technologies. The founding team also includes Ankit Kumar, a former Tesla engineer; Abhilasha, who focuses on electrical systems and battery architecture; Yashdeep, who works on product and manufacturing; and Sushmita, who leads operations and partnerships.
The startup has been incubated at AMTIF-ARAI and mentored by programs including IIT Startups and the Wadhwani Foundation. It has also participated in startup support initiatives such as the Razorpay Rize community and WTFunds.
