Apple’s lead Safari designer, Marco Triverio, has left the company to join The Browser Company. The startup is known for creating an AI-focused browser called Dia. The Browser Company’s CEO, Josh Miller, announced the move on social media, stating that Triverio had “just joined” his company. Miller confirmed the move on microblogging site X (formerly Twitter) and professional networking site LinkedIn, where he noted that Apple’s “lead Safari designer” had “jumped ship” to work on the new browser. In the post shared on both X and LinkedIn, Miller wrote, “Big news: Apple’s lead Safari designer, Marco Triverio, just joined The Browser Company! Alongside Charlie Deets, we now have the lead designers from every Safari era that overlapped with Arc and Dia browsers (2020 to 2025). We’re not messing around this year! Come work with us if you care more about people and making their daily lives better than models and benchmarks.”While the exact date of Triverio’s departure from Apple remains unknown, the announcement marks a significant talent shift early in 2026. This follows a period in 2025 when many technology companies competed to hire designers and engineers with experience in artificial intelligence (AI).Triverio’s leaving is a reminder that tech giants and new entrants are locked in a battle for talent. The Browser Company hopes to tap into Triverio’s knowledge to improve their AI-based browser tools. Apple has yet to appoint a new head of design for its team following this loss.
The Browser Company CEO Josh Miller reveals the company’s roadmap
In another post on X, Miller said he wants to build a strong team of AI interface and product experts and to “treat these exceptional individuals like artists and craftspeople that they are.” Claiming that rival browser makers have copied Dia, Miller wrote that he believes the future of computing will be in browsers. This belief is pushing the company to invest more in employees and make their browsers even better. In his X post, Miller wrote: “To be transparent about what we’re doing here:Our intention is to build the densest, most extraordinary team of AI interface & product talent in the industry. And treat these exceptional individuals like artists and craftspeople that they are. After seeing the way our competitors have mimic’d Dia and other recent developments in AI, I’m more convicted than ever that the future of computing is in the browser layer. We have a special crew in a special flow right now, with instincts that are leading our competitors. Now we want to double-down on that density of creative talent — with original ideas and stellar product instincts — who care about people and their lives more than models and benchmarks. If this feels like a bat signal for you, swing through. We want @browsercompany to be known for N=1 original value, craft detail, and kindness. Does that sound like your dream team? We’re looking for anyone who expresses their ideas in Swift prototypes, and can’t sleep some nights because of what they can now make with Claude Code and original creative instincts. DMs open! All I want are links to things you’ve built that I can play with, please! We’ll also be sharing more specific tools soon, including an update on our talent philosophy and operating model holistically. We’ll be innovating here as much as on Dia’s product development. More soon!!”
