Dr. Doodley, a rising leader in India’s organized veterinary sector, has raised $3.3 million (₹30 crore) in a pre-Series A funding round. The investment is a mix of ₹20 crore in equity and ₹10 crore in debt, with the equity portion led by V3 Ventures.
The round also saw significant participation from Campus Fund, Thackersey Family Office, and a group of high-profile angel investors, including Yatin Shah and Karan Bhagat (Founders of 360 ONE Wealth) and Gautam Dalmia (Managing Director, Dalmia Bharat Group).
A 360-Degree Pet Care Ecosystem
Founded in 2023 by Utsav Bisaria and Yash Jayprakash Ladda, Dr. Doodley has quickly disrupted the fragmented pet care market with a unique hybrid model. The startup combines 24/7 multispecialty hospitals for complex cases with a rapid vet-at-home service for routine care.
Currently operating three full-scale hospitals in Bengaluru (Jayanagar, Yelahanka, and Whitefield), the firm employs a team of 35 skilled veterinarians. Over the past year, Dr. Doodley has successfully treated more than 30,000 pets and performed over 1,000 surgeries.
Disrupting Surgical Costs & Home Care
With this fresh capital, Dr. Doodley is set to launch two “game-changing” initiatives aimed at accessibility and transparency:
-
30-Minute Vet-at-Home: Leveraging its distributed hospital network, the brand aims to deliver professional veterinary care to a pet parent’s doorstep in under 30 minutes.
-
Standardized Surgery Pricing: In a sector often criticized for opaque billing, Dr. Doodley is introducing a flat ₹10,000 pricing model for surgeries across various procedures, ensuring affordability for critical care.
Roadmap to 100,000 Pets
Over the next 12 months, the startup plans to more than double its physical footprint in Bengaluru by opening four new 24/7 hospitals in Bellandur, Indiranagar, Rajajinagar, and North Bengaluru.
Expansion Goals for 2026-27:
-
Scale Hospitals: Reach 7 multispecialty facilities.
-
Grow Team: Increase the veterinary workforce to 100+ doctors.
-
Impact: Target the treatment of over 1,00,000 pets.
-
New Territories: Begin pre-entry operations for other Tier I cities later this year.
“The pet healthcare market in India is currently valued at ₹18,000 crore and is growing at a CAGR of 30%,” said a spokesperson for V3 Ventures. “Dr. Doodley’s focus on pure-play healthcare over retail allows for the highest clinical throughput and operational excellence.”
