What is the IndiaAI Impact Startup Book, and How Does it Support ‘Make in India’ AI?

At the India AI Impact Summit 2026, MeitY has published the book India AI Impact Startup Book, which is a mapping of the India AI startup ecosystem. This list has identified 100 AI solutions in essential industries, which can be used to drive the scalability of AI implementation in the country.

When was the MeitY India AI Impact Startup Book Launched?

On day three of the India AI Impact Summit 2026 (in New Delhi, February 19-20, 2026) the book was announced by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). 

It summarizes the experience of many startups, presenting trends in areas such as healthcare, agriculture, education, and new technologies such as foundation models and edge AI.

It was launched by Shri Abhishek Singh, the Additional Secretary at MeitY, NIC Director General, and IndiaAI CEO, as he focuses not on infrastructure but on citizen impact.

It is recorded in the book that there is a high presence of AI in healthcare and an increase in databases, waste-tech and Indian context voice/ vision apps as well as indigenous infrastructure. 

Almost half of local startup ventures concentrate at the local level, intensifying to 68% international operations by growth-stage entrepreneurships with innovation diffusion outside of metros.

It makes India a destination of deployable AI, supported with Digital Public Infrastructure.

AI Impact Summit 2026

IndiaAI Mission hosted India AI Impact Summit 2026 bringing together leaders to have inclusive AI dialog on seven themes such as solutions repositories and policy notes. 

It enhances pilot-level goals to use them on a population level and disseminates the DPI experiences in India throughout the world.

What are the Scaling Plans of India AI Mission?

The compendium will also help ministries to examine solutions to be deployed, with 10 of 100 to scale in 12-18 months. Singh emphasized connecting providers with agencies to such areas as health care and jobs.

Eight insights were observed by Mr. Sushant Kumar of Kalpa Impact, such as infrastructural constructs and edge innovation.

Through portals such as indiaai.gov.in, IndiaAI Mission is a democratization of computing, data and talent in ethical AI development. The nodal ministry is MeitY that promotes startups by providing funds and programs.
