India’s First AI-and-Startup-Focused Undergraduate Degree Launched by Scaler – Newspatrolling.com

The Scaler School of Technology has launched a new undergraduate degree program in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Business. This degree will be a four-year, fully-residential program that will help students learn about AI, product development, and entrepreneurship in an environment that is changing rapidly. This is the first-degree program in India to combine AI education with a mandatory startup project and aims to help students develop skills as potential founders or future technology leaders early in their education.

According to the vision of Anshuman Singh, who used to lead Facebook’s Messenger engineering team, AI has changed how companies are built. Advanced tools now enable anyone to develop a usable product within weeks instead of months. Singh believes that traditional education must evolve so that students can find solutions to real-world problems through interaction with customers and by actually taking ownership of what they build, all while developing a foundational understanding of both the technical and entrepreneurial aspects of launching new businesses.

The structure of the curriculum employs a progressive, build-first method. In Year 1 students will be developing a solid foundation in programming, math for artificial intelligence, economics, and communication skills by completing a series of real-world projects. In Year 2, students will learn about production systems, artificial intelligence models, and market entry strategies. In Year3, students will work with early-stage companies from the Scaler Innovation Lab to create robust product strategies and define growth metrics for those products. Year 4 will require all students to assume the role of “Founder Mode” and create a commercially viable AI Start-Up as part of their academic studies.

Students will further strengthen their skill sets through industry mentorship, access to funding, and job opportunities. Students will also have the opportunity to interact with industry experts from companies such as OpenAI, Google DeepMind, NVIDIA, and Razorpay. In addition, students will have access to Scaler’s extensive placement network that includes companies like Amazon and Microsoft. With the first cohort of students already realising substantial success with revenue generation and innovation grant opportunities and a maximum admission of 200 students, Scaler is committed to developing a new generation of AI Start-Up Founders and industry-ready professionals.
