NTU Singapore and UOB have launched the UOB Innovation Hub, emphasizing experimentation and bold thinking. Heng Swee Keat, Chairman of National Research Foundation, Singapore, was the Guest of Honour at the unveiling.
The Hub will support innovation across its divisions including healthcare by providing incubation facilities, including dedicated workspaces and shared infrastructure, enabling founders to develop and test ideas with minimal upfront costs.
Student teams from NTU’s new Venture Creation Programme will be among the first to utilize the space, focusing on areas like sustainability and artificial intelligence with potential applications in healthcare.
NTU President Professor Ho Teck Hua highlighted the Hub as a key step in fostering a culture of innovation across the university. “The Innovation Hub is a space where the NTU community can test bold ideas and turn them into solutions that could transform healthcare and beyond. It will incubate the next generation of startups, nurturing them into future SMEs and contributing to Singapore’s start-up ecosystem,” he said.
The Hub will also function as a learning space with smart classrooms while expanding its role as a center for healthcare-focused innovation and venture creation. By supporting projects that address critical healthcare challenges—such as improving patient care, advancing medical technologies, or enhancing accessibility—the Hub aims to drive impactful solutions.
This initiative underscores NTU’s commitment to cultivating innovation in healthcare, equipping students and researchers with the tools to pioneer breakthroughs. The UOB Innovation Hub is poised to become a cornerstone of Singapore’s healthcare startup landscape, fostering collaboration and bold ideas to address pressing medical needs.
