  • The Raspberry Pi Foundation, an educational charity founded to promote the study of computer science and related subjects globally, particularly among young people, expanded its Experience AI program across Latin America, backed by $4.6 million in funding from Google.org. The expansion will be delivered through a network of local education partners, using a train-the-trainer model to support teacher development at scale

  • WHOOP, a fitness wearables startup, raised $575 million in Series G funding in a round led by Collaborative Fund and includes global participation from 2PointZero Group, Qatar Investment Authority, Mubadala Investment Company, Abbott, Mayo Clinic, Macquarie Capital, Glade Brook, B-Flexion, IVP, Foundry, Accomplice, Affinity Partners, Promus Ventures, and Bullhound Capital alongside a group of prominent global athletes and individual investors
  • Ambrosia Biosciences, which offers drug development services for small molecule-based therapies for obesity and other metabolic disorders, raised $100 million in a financing co-led by new investors Blue Owl Healthcare Opportunities, Redmile and Deep Track Capital. Existing investors BVF Partners and Boulder Ventures also participated, and were joined by additional new investors Janus Henderson Investors, Samsara BioCapital, and an undisclosed institutional investor

  • Doctronic, an AI system legally authorized to practice medicine, raised a $40 million Series B round co-led by Abstract and Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation from existing investors including Union Square Ventures, Seven Stars, Mantis, and Tusk Ventures

  • Gabify, a platform dedicated to solving neurodevelopmental challenges in children, raised $175,000 in a pre-seed funding round led by Inflection Point Ventures
  • Amaha, an omnichannel mental health platform solving the 95% treatment gap in mental health in India, raised Rs 50 crore in an extended Series A round led by Fireside Ventures, along with Shreyas Shibulal and Lightbox
  • Ambient Clinical Analytics, a company that combines real-time clinical analytics with clinical decision support and workflow tools, raised a $5 million strategic funding round with key investments from Mairs & Power Venture Capital as well as a Fortune 500 strategic MedTech firm
  • Acurion, a precision oncology technology company advancing AI-driven cancer biomarker detection through its OncoGaze platform, raised $4.3 million in a round led by TK & Partners, with participation from Mesa Verde Venture Partners, The National Foundation for Cancer Research and the Asian Fund for Cancer Research, Bootstrap Ventures, and institutional investors, impact funds, and healthcare executives
  • Semarion, a company combining materials engineering and cell biology to tackle unmet drug screening needs, raised $3.8 million in a round led by Parkwalk, and joined by The FSE Group, Cambridge Enterprise Ventures, Oxford Innovation Finance, Found Capital, Cambridge Capital Group, and Start Codon
  • Audicin, a neurotechnology company using brainwave entrainment and auditory engineering to support nervous system regulation, raised $1.9 million in a round that includes private investment, follow-on backing from Petteri Lahtela and Virpi Tuomivaara, and a grant from Business Finland through its Deep Tech Accelerator programme

  • Pocket, an AI powered front office that operates systems for medical clinics, raised $1.4 million from 2048 Ventures

  • Pickmybrain, a platform that turns professionals’ expertise into AI-powered “Digital Brains,” raised a $2.1 million pre-seed round from a group of business angels, including Garri Zmudze
  • SeeVC, developer of a cognitive and emotional AI to track emotions and students online to provide offline-like engagement in an online environment, raised $100,000 in seed funding from Jimmy Singh

Fund News

  • , a venture capital fund for autism, behavioral health and mental health conditions, closed its second fund, which will invest in solutions related to autism, behavioral health, mental health and related conditions, with total assets under management now approximately $150 million

Policy and government

  • President Donald Trump announced he will levy tariffs as high as 100 percent on some name-brand pharmaceuticals, though the order contains numerous exemptions, including for generic drugs and for companies that have already committed to building manufacturing plants in the U.S. by the end of Trump’s term. Countries that have struck trade agreements with the administration will also receive lower rates, drastically narrowing how many drugs will ultimately be hit by the triple-digit duties
  • A federal judge ordered the University of Pennsylvania to comply with a federal government subpoena demanding information on Jewish faculty, ostensibly part of an investigation into antisemitism on campus. U.S. District Judge Gerald J. Pappert determined that the EEOC request fell within its authority to investigate workplace discrimination and that the agency is entitled to obtain relevant information for its inquiry. The investigation was opened in 2023 following complaints of antisemitism following the Oct. 7 attack

I saw a huge pain point in the industries where managers would be spending six plus hours a week building employee schedules manually,” he said
