Software startup Ailytics leverages AI to improve industrial safety

[SINGAPORE] Singapore-based software company Ailytics uses artificial intelligence (AI)-powered video analytics to help companies in the heavy industry improve their operational safety and productivity. 

While industrial sites generate millions of hours of CCTV footage, Ailytics noted that around 95 per cent of sites lack active or AI-enabled monitoring, which delays hazard detection and leaves safety teams operating without real-time insight.

To address these challenges, Ailytics’ scenario-based video analytics solution taps existing surveillance cameras to show real-time insights of unsafe acts, productivity metrics and security breaches.

Since its founding in 2021, the company’s solutions have been implemented in more than 300 projects across 10 countries and connected to over 5,000 cameras.

Ailytics said that, upon adoption, businesses have reported a seven-times increase in hazard detection, a 20 per cent improvement in operational efficiency, and a 70 per cent reduction in non-compliance with safety protocols.

The software has helped clients shift from reactive monitoring to proactive risk prevention through earlier hazard detection and real-time insights, Ailytics noted.

Dynamic use cases

Ailytics’ patented 2D and 3D technology, which can connect to any existing camera infrastructure, specialises in long-range outdoor detection in dynamic environments.

The company said that its solution is capable of operating in harsh and dynamic outdoor conditions, even with lower-resolution cameras, making it suitable for construction sites and manufacturing plants.

Some of the company’s clients include Singapore-listed ST Engineering and SoilBuild Construction.

Additionally, the software uses generative and agentic AI to reduce errors and handle challenging scenarios.

The startup said its AI is trained to recognise over 50 use cases for safety, security and productivity. Examples include smoke and fire detection, measuring proximity between machinery and workers, and identifying unattended objects.

With site accidents remaining a persistent challenge in the heavy industry, Ailytics aims to provide real-time actionable insights for end users to make better-informed decisions. The company said this helps clients improve their safety and operational culture while increasing their chances of winning tenders.
