Let me preface by saying I’m not against A.I technology being used and implemented in music production. Modern auto tune software (for example) is integrated with A.I and complexity of the algorithms in auto tune tools invented in the late 90’s could be argued to be “proto-A.I” or a beta version of A.I although that isn’t really A.I in it’s true sense cause it didn’t use adaptive processing and therefore couldn’t learn. That being said, generative A.I being used to produce music from top to bottom is the issue here. In this case you are not letting A.I aid you with your ideas (or learning anything about production if you are just starting out in music) you are letting A.I produce your ideas (using the works of others no less). That’s not “making” music. That’s not art. That’s not #music production. That’s prompting ideas, nothing more.
