S. Korean startup HolmesAI develops AI platform that can predict heart attack | Yonhap News Agency

SEOUL, Feb. 9 (Yonhap) — Digital health care startup HolmesAI Co. said Monday it has developed a digital diagnostic platform based on artificial intelligence (AI) that can detect 21 types of cardiac arrhythmia at home, predicting the risk of cardiac arrest within 24 hours.

The platform, named CLholmes, analyzes electrocardiogram (ECG) data to estimate the likelihood of cardiac arrest within the next 24 hours, according to the company.

The technology was developed through joint research by professors Lee Hyung-cheol and Lee Hyun-hoon of Seoul National University Hospital.

HolmesAI said the platform is designed to enable continuous monitoring and preventive health care in everyday life.

The company said it is developing CLholmes as a digital health service that integrates in real time with ECG data generated by wearable devices, such as smartwatches, enabling early detection of cardiac arrest risk signals and the delivery of immediate alerts to patients, attending physicians and emergency medical centers.

CLholmes was awarded the Innovation Award at the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

Following the development of CLholmes, HolmesAI opened a New York office last month as part of its efforts to expand into the global digital health care market.

“Through the establishment of our New York office, we aim to introduce our wearable-based digital health and medical AI convergence model to the global market and accelerate the development of a prevention-centered health care ecosystem that protects lives beyond hospital settings,” a company official said in a release.
