W Health Ventures Announces First Close of Second Fund at Rs 550 Crore, Eyes Early-Stage Healthcare Innovation - Indian Startup Times

Healthcare-focused venture capital firm W Health Ventures has marked the first close of its second fund at Rs 550 crore, moving closer to its target corpus of around Rs 630 crore. With this fund, the firm plans to back 8–10 early-stage healthcare startups, reinforcing its focused thesis on building and scaling healthcare ventures from the ground up.

The firm will invest in startups at the early stage with cheque sizes ranging between Rs 30–50 crore. Staying true to its company-creation and incubation model, W Health Ventures works closely with founders from inception, partnering with them to shape, build, and scale healthcare businesses in India and the US.

The newly launched fund will concentrate on high-impact segments such as AI-enabled healthcare services, chronic care, preventive care, geriatrics, oncology, and emerging healthcare delivery models. These areas reflect a growing demand for technology-led, patient-centric solutions as healthcare systems evolve to address long-term and preventive needs.

Founded in 2019, W Health Ventures has built its investment strategy around care delivery, digital health, and technology-driven healthcare services. Over the years, it has developed a portfolio that includes startups such as Wysa and BeatO, alongside other digital health and care delivery ventures operating across India and the US.

The firm has already begun deploying capital from the first close and expects to complete the final close in the coming months.

With healthcare innovation gaining momentum and founders increasingly building for both India and global markets, W Health Ventures’ second fund signals continued conviction in the sector’s long-term potential — particularly in models that combine clinical depth with technology-enabled scale.
