Healthcare startup Gut Clinic has raised $1 million (around Rs 9 crore) in a seed funding round backed by a strategic group of more than 15 investors. Key participants in the round include Amitoj Singh, Aman Rajpal, Ankur Kathuria of Alpha Wave Global, Juhi Bhatnagar, and Deepak Garg.
The company said the fresh funds will be used to open new centres, strengthen clinical systems, and expand its diagnostic capabilities. Gut Clinic is targeting opportunities within India’s $197 billion preventive healthcare market.
Founded in 2024 by Akshat Kumar, Gut Clinic runs specialised outpatient centres focused on gastroenterology, liver, and metabolic health. The clinics provide consultations, endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures, advanced gastrointestinal diagnostics, and clinical nutrition services. The model is designed for patients who want specialised care outside traditional large hospital settings.
According to market research, nearly 70 million Indians suffer from lifestyle-related digestive and metabolic disorders, highlighting the growing demand for focused and accessible care.
Gut Clinic operates on an outpatient and day-care model, with its centres embedded within hospitals to treat gastrointestinal, liver, and metabolic conditions. The startup combines clinical expertise with technology-enabled infrastructure, digital marketing, local outreach, and partnerships to improve awareness and patient outcomes in digestive health.
At present, the company operates in the Delhi NCR region. It now plans to expand into Chandigarh, Punjab, and other parts of North India. In the near to medium term, Gut Clinic aims to set up more than 20 centres. Its long-term vision is to build India’s largest gastro-metabolic healthcare platform focused on early diagnosis, standardised treatment protocols, and long-term disease management.
With fresh funding and expansion plans underway, Gut Clinic is positioning itself to tap into the rising demand for preventive and specialist healthcare services in India.
