Reinforcing its commitment to nurturing India’s deep-tech startup ecosystem and enabling indigenous innovations to take from the lab to the market, the Technology Development Board (TDB) of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, has provided financial support to Bengaluru-based startup Wellness Technologies for the commercialisation of its innovative product, the YogiFi Smart Yoga Mat.
The project titled “Commercialisation of YogiFi Smart Sensor Fabric Mats with Autonomous and Self-Sustaining Systems” aims to strengthen the indigenous manufacturing capabilities of AI-powered health technology developed in India and enable mass production.
This initiative is in line with the Government of India’s vision to promote preventive healthcare, digital health technologies and self-reliant manufacturing within the larger framework of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
The YogiFi Smart Yoga Mat combines advanced sensor technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to provide real-time posture feedback, guided yoga sessions, and detailed performance analytics through a mobile application.
Combining digital technology with the ancient science of yoga, this product represents a new category of AI-enabled preventive health solutions emerging from India’s startup space.
