Oben Electric bets on Rorr EZ for 30% sales contribution as Karnataka leads demand

Bengaluru-based Electric Vehicle (EV) startup Oben Electric reported that Karnataka contributed over 20 per cent of Oben Electric’s total sales last year, emerging as one of the company’s strongest growth markets. It has emerged as the state’s highest-selling motorcycle brand in FY26. The EV startup hosted an exclusive showcase for the newly launched New Rorr EVO at its flagship showroom in HSR Layout, Bengaluru.

Founded in August 2020, the startup specialises in designing, developing, and manufacturing performance electric motorcycles and all its critical EV components in-house, in India. The company now speculates nearly 30 per cent of total New Rorr sales in FY26 to come from Karnataka, driven by strong EV adoption momentum, increasing demand for its motorcycles, and rising consumer preference for practical electric mobility solutions.

The New Rorr EVO is currently being offered at a special introductory price of ₹99,999 (ex-showroom) for the first 10,000 customers, following which the price will be revised to ₹1,24,999 (ex-showroom). Bookings are open at Rs 777, while customer deliveries are scheduled to commence nationwide from June 2026.

The motorcycle comes with a streetfighter-style design, offers a top speed of 110 km/h, and has an IDC-certified range of 180 km. It supports fast charging, enabling the battery to charge from 0 to 80 per cent in 90 minutes. The vehicle also features SmartIQ, Oben Electric’s ride optimisation technology aimed at improving efficiency and increasing range by up to 15 per cent.

Speaking at the showcase, Madhumita Agarwal, Founder and CEO of Oben Electric said Bengaluru has played a pivotal role in our growth journey, and with the New Rorr EVO. Karnataka continues to be one of the most strategic markets for Oben Electric, not just from a sales perspective, but also as the foundation of our innovation and manufacturing ecosystem, she added.

Oben Electric currently operates 10 showrooms across Karnataka and nationally operates across 18 states and major metropolitan markets in India through a network of 150 showrooms. Oben also plans to expand this footprint to 350 showrooms by the end of the year.
