US-based venture capital firm and startup studio Redesign Health has announced a partnership with Mumbai-based Sky Impact Capital to launch a dedicated investment vehicle for the Indian market. This new fund aims to support early-stage healthcare artificial intelligence (AI) companies targeting both Indian and global markets.Founded in 2018 and headquartered in New York, Redesign Health has previously invested in over 60 companies, including Vault Health, Jasper Health, and Translucent AI. The firm recognizes India’s expanding healthcare market, robust digital infrastructure, and a wealth of technical talent as key factors driving its investment strategy.Brett Shaheen, founder and CEO of Redesign Health, emphasized the significant opportunities in India’s healthcare sector, stating that the combination of engineering talent and clinical needs creates a conducive environment for innovative solutions. The fund will particularly focus on pre-seed and ideation-stage founders, assisting them in refining their concepts and navigating regulatory pathways.Sky Impact Capital, which manages capital for global institutions and family offices, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. Aakash Sachdev, founder and managing partner of Sky Impact Capital, highlighted the potential to leverage technology to enhance healthcare access and outcomes in India.The fund will also work closely with founders from ideation through exit, aiming to help them achieve product-market fit and accelerate commercial traction. Redesign Health plans to expand its local team and develop partnerships to build a pipeline of early-stage investment opportunities in India.
