UMAMI E-Learning Solutions, an Egyptian digital learning and workforce development company, has launched its Learning Operating System (LOS™), an intelligent learning infrastructure designed to support governments, ministries and large-scale institutions across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
The company is backing the launch with a phased investment plan exceeding EGP 50 million, as organisations increasingly seek better ways to measure workforce readiness, skills development and the impact of their learning investments.
UMAMI said traditional learning technologies are no longer sufficient to meet the growing demands of governments, educational institutions and enterprises. The company identified a need for integrated systems capable of connecting learning activities with workforce development and organisational outcomes.
Having supported learning and workforce development initiatives across more than 35 countries, UMAMI said it repeatedly encountered institutions that were investing significantly in learning but lacked a unified operating layer for linking learning activities to measurable workforce outcomes.
LOS™ was developed to address this gap by bringing learning, skills, performance and decision-making together within a single ecosystem. The platform is designed for national and regional deployment and can integrate with institutional frameworks covering formal education, healthcare, technical and vocational education and training (TVET), and corporate environments.
The company positions LOS™ as an operating layer for learning and workforce development, similar to the role enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems play in business operations and customer relationship management (CRM) platforms play in customer management. The system is intended to help institutions move beyond content delivery towards measurable capability development at scale.
The launch follows UMAMI’s recognition as one of the first companies in Egypt to receive the official Startup Label Certificate under the national Startup Charter. The framework recognises technology and entrepreneurship companies based on criteria including innovation, technological reliance, scalability and investment readiness.
The Startup Charter is aligned with Egypt’s Vision 2030 objective of developing a knowledge-based and innovation-driven economy. The national initiative aims to support up to 5,000 startups, create approximately 500,000 direct and indirect jobs and accelerate access to international markets over the next five years.
UMAMI has also been named among the 2026 Top 100 Entrepreneurs in Africa by African Business Heroes, further highlighting its position in the continent’s emerging edtech ecosystem.

UMAMI said the platform is intended to provide institutions with infrastructure that can scale training and workforce development in response to changing market requirements.
