Amrit Anand Joins BoAt Lifestyle As Head Of PR & Communications

Amrit Anand has joined boAt Lifestyle as Head of PR and Communications, marking the next phase of a career built across some of India’s most closely watched startup and consumer-technology spaces.

The move comes after Anand’s stint as Head of Corporate Communications at Zupee.

His appointment at boAt places him in a role where brand narrative, public reputation and stakeholder trust are likely to sit at the centre of the mandate.

For Anand, the shift is also a return to a familiar professional terrain: fast-moving Indian companies where communication is not limited to announcements, launches or visibility, but is closely tied to business perception.

From large global organisations to India’s startup ecosystem

Anand reflected on his career move in a LinkedIn post, recalling how he entered the Indian startup ecosystem after working with large global organisations such as Walmart and Bank of America.

“Ten years ago, I took a leap from the predictability of large global organizations, Walmart and Bank of America, into India’s startup ecosystem by joining ReNew Power. Looking back, it remains one of the most rewarding decisions of my career,” he wrote.

That decade-long journey has taken him across ReNew, Paytm and Zupee, giving him exposure to different kinds of communication challenges in the Indian business landscape.

The roles he has handled over the years include IPO communications, regulatory and policy issues, crisis management, category creation, leadership positioning and reputation management. These are not narrow public relations functions. They sit at the intersection of business strategy, credibility and public trust, especially for companies operating in high-growth and high-scrutiny sectors.

Anand’s new role comes at boAt Lifestyle, a company he described as “one of India’s most iconic consumer brands.”

Announcing the appointment, he said, “Today, I am excited to share that I have joined boAt Lifestyle as Head of PR and Communications. boAt has built one of India’s most iconic consumer brands by combining innovation, design and a deep understanding of its consumers. I look forward to contributing to the next phase of its journey.”

His words point to a communications mandate that may go beyond routine corporate visibility. For a consumer brand, reputation is shaped not only by products, but also by how the company speaks to customers, responds to industry shifts, communicates with stakeholders and presents its leadership story.

Anand also said he is excited by the opportunity “to help shape the reputation and narrative of another category-defining Indian brand.”

A career built around trust, reputation and difficult moments

What stands out in Anand’s career arc is the range of communication situations he has worked across.

IPO communication requires precision and discipline. Regulatory and policy issues demand clarity and restraint. Crisis management needs speed, judgment and credibility. Category creation involves shaping public understanding of a business or sector that may still be evolving. Leadership positioning, meanwhile, is about building trust around the people steering the company.

Anand’s move to boAt, therefore, is not just a people movement update. It reflects the growing importance of senior communications leadership in Indian companies that operate in crowded, competitive and reputation-sensitive markets.

His own view of the function is clear. Communications, in his telling, is not merely about visibility. It plays a deeper role in building stakeholder trust and credibility, particularly during challenging periods.

At boAt Lifestyle, Anand is expected to contribute to the company’s reputation and communications strategy as it moves into its next phase.

For a brand that speaks directly to young, digitally active consumers, the communications function carries a wide brief. It must protect credibility, strengthen recall, support leadership visibility and keep the brand narrative consistent across public platforms.

Anand’s appointment brings into boAt a professional who has worked across multiple startup journeys and complex communication mandates. His next chapter will likely be watched closely within India’s PR, corporate communications and startup circles.
