Indian woman in US fails to get H-1B for 4 years, moves to Canada: ‘Not end of the world’
Shreya Mishra Reddy moved to the US for higher studies in 2021 and got a job at Visa in 2023, but her student work authorisation expired in January 2026 and since she failed to get an H-1B visa, she was forced to leave the US. Reddy added that she does not view moving back to India as a failure, pointing to growing opportunities in cities such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Delhi.
