Naver D2SF has invested in two new healthcare startups targeting overseas markets.

Naver D2SF announced on the 18th that it has newly invested in Impremed, an artificial intelligence (AI)-based precision medical company, and Munis, which operates an AI sleep management app.

Imprimed is developing a solution that analyzes patients’ cancer cells in vitro and uses them to determine the direction of chemotherapy. The key technology is to directly observe the response of anticancer drugs while keeping the detached cancer cells alive outside the body for a long time.

Combining cancer cell analysis data with immunophenotype, genome, and clinical data to increase treatment prediction accuracy. Currently, Imprimed is developing AI models based on more than 3.5 million patient data.

Imprimed is focusing on blood cancer and infectious diseases in the blood, and aims to first commercialize it in the United States with FDA approval and CLIA approval within the first quarter of next year. In addition, it is also developing new drugs and commercializing pet healthcare.

Munis is a startup that created the sleep management app ‘Reaknight’. It presents a sleep-inducing sound suitable for users by combining physical and psychological conditions, sleep patterns, and satisfaction after waking up. It calculates the individual’s “sleep debt” based on the accumulated data and also informs the appropriate bedtime.

Munis is targeting the global market through localization strategies, ranking No. 1 in the health and fitness category of the app store six months after entering Japan. It entered Taiwan in May this year, and based on this, Munis exceeded $5 million in annual conversion recurring sales (ARR) in September, with more than 77,000 global paid subscribers.

Yang Sang-hwan, head of Naver’s D2SF Center, explained the background of the investment, saying, “Imprimed is making the possibility of precision medical care in the North American market a reality based on clinical evidence and business capabilities, and Munis is a team that shows the possibility of B2C healthcare in Japan and Taiwan according to their respective local characteristics.”
