Pet healthcare startup Dr. Doodley raises Rs 30 crore to scale its hospital network

Pet healthcare startup Dr. Doodley has raised $3.3 million, or around Rs 30 crore, in a pre-Series A funding round, as it looks to scale its hospital network and expand into other tier I cities.

The round includes Rs 20 crore in equity and Rs 10 crore in debt. The equity portion was led by V3 Ventures, with participation from Campus Fund and Thackersey Family Office. Angel investors in the round include Yatin Shah and Karan Bhagat, founders of 360 ONE Wealth, and Gautam Dalmia, managing director of Dalmia Bharat Group.

Founded in 2023 by Utsav Bisaria and Yash Jayprakash Ladda, Dr. Doodley operates a hybrid model that combines vet-at-home services with 24/7 multispecialty pet hospitals. The startup currently runs three hospitals in Bengaluru, located in Jayanagar, Yelahanka and Whitefield, and works with a team of around 35 veterinarians.

Its hospitals offer in-house diagnostics, including X-ray, ultrasound and blood testing, along with surgical facilities and inpatient care supported by round-the-clock monitoring. It follows standardised clinical protocols across its facilities and provides access to specialists across surgery, gynaecology and internal medicine.

The fresh capital will be used to expand hospital capacity, strengthen clinical operations and prepare for entry into new cities. Over the next 12 months, Dr. Doodley plans to open four additional hospitals in Bellandur, Indiranagar, Rajajinagar and North Bengaluru, taking the total to seven facilities. During this period, it aims to treat more than 1,00,000 pets and expand its veterinary workforce to over 100 doctors.

The startup also plans to roll out 30-minute vet-at-home services and introduce a flat Rs 10,000 pricing model for surgeries across procedures. Dr. Doodley said it treated over 30,000 pets and conducted more than 1,000 surgeries in the past year. It operates in a growing pet healthcare market alongside players such as Wiggles, Supertails, Vetic and Petzzco.
