Axten Hospitals, a startup focused on specialised surgical care, has raised Rs 2.5 crore in its first structured funding round led by PedalStart, with participation from angel investors.
The company plans to use the funds to expand its hospital network and strengthen its technology capabilities. Over the next 12 months, Axten aims to launch three new hospital facilities using an asset-light model, focusing on partnerships, branding, legal setup, and working capital.
Focus on Standardised and Transparent Surgical Care
Founded by Gauttam Chhabra, Axten Hospitals operates specialised surgical centres designed to deliver standardised care, operational efficiency, and transparent pricing.
The startup introduced its pilot facility in East of Kailash, New Delhi, during FY25. In its first year of operations, the company reported around Rs 9 crore in revenue while remaining EBITDA positive, indicating early operational efficiency.
Axten focuses on high-volume surgical procedures across multiple specialties, including:
- General surgery
- Orthopaedics
- Gynaecology
- Urology
- ENT
- Oncology
“Honest Surgery Price” Model
A key differentiator for Axten is its fixed-price surgical packages, offered under its “Honest Surgery Price” model. This approach is aimed at reducing unexpected medical bills and improving pricing transparency for patients.
Expansion and Growth Plans
Looking ahead, the company plans to build a network of over 25 facilities across the top five metro cities in India. It is also targeting Rs 250 crore in revenue over the next five years, driven by its scalable operating model and focus on affordable, predictable healthcare.
In addition to physical expansion, Axten is also working on launching a technology platform to support patient discovery, appointment booking, and post-operative care, enhancing the overall patient experience.
With its combination of standardised care delivery, transparent pricing, and asset-light expansion, Axten Hospitals is positioning itself as a new-age player in India’s evolving surgical care ecosystem.
