US tech startup Anthropic says it may be able to make available artificial-intelligence models as powerful as its Claude Mythos to all its customers in the coming weeks.
Claude Mythos is highly capable of identifying software vulnerabilities. The company decided against a general rollout for the model out of concern that it could be used in cyberattacks.
Currently, only about 50 companies and institutions are using a model called Claude Mythos Preview.
The company announced on Thursday: “Models of this capability level require stronger cyber safeguards before they can be generally released. We’re making swift progress on developing these safeguards.”
It did not provide details of how the new models will be different from the current one in terms of capability and security.
Anthropic also said on the same day that the company’s valuation has reached 965 billion dollars.
A US media outlet reported that the valuation of Anthropic has eclipsed its rival OpenAI, the maker of ChatGPT, for the first time.
