Revolut cofounder Vlad Yatsenko is stepping down as CTO after more than a decade in the role, as the fintech reshuffles its leadership team amid continued global expansion.
On Thursday, the company announced that Yatsenko will transition to a non-executive director position on Revolut’s board from July 1, where he will continue to provide strategic and technical guidance.
Yatsenko, who founded Revolut alongside CEO Nik Storonsky in 2015, has been one of the key architects behind the company’s technology platform, helping scale the fintech from a startup into a business serving more than 75m customers worldwide.
He will be succeeded by Donato Lucia, a longtime Revolut executive who has spent the past eight years within the company’s engineering organisation. Lucia most recently served as head of technology and currently oversees the development of Revolut’s core banking infrastructure.
According to Revolut, Lucia leads a global engineering team of more than 1,400 employees and has played a central role in building the systems underpinning the company’s rapid growth.
“We are pleased that Vlad will continue to lend his expertise to the company as he remains on the Board,” a Revolut spokesperson said.
The leadership change comes as Revolut pushes deeper into banking, lending and wealth management, following the rollout of its UK banking operations and a broader effort to diversify revenues beyond payments.
