Paediatric healthcare brand Hoola Health (erstwhile BabyMD) has raised $5 Mn (around ₹47.6 Cr) in a funding round led by Peak XV’s Surge, along with participation from existing investor W Health Ventures. The round also saw participation from a host of angel investors, including  MFV Partners partner Ashish Gupta, Tracxn cofounder Abhishek Goyal, and Retail Association of India chairman Bijou Kurien.

The Bengaluru-based startup plans to deploy the capital to expand its clinic network across Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Delhi NCR.

Hoola Health, which inaugurated its first paediatric care clinic in 2024, operates five clinics across Bengaluru currently. Over the next two years, it plans to open 30 additional clinics while continuing to invest in specialist services, technology infrastructure and parent-focused support systems.

Founded in 2024 by Deeksha Senguttuvan, Hoola Health offers a diverse range of paediatric services, including consultations, vaccinations, diagnostics, developmental assessments, therapies, and specialist care, with plans to expand into areas such as paediatric dentistry.

The startup was originally launched as BabyMD but later rebranded as Hoola Health as it expanded its services to cater to children across age groups.

It has designed kids-friendly clinics featuring play zones, therapy spaces, and suitable interiors. Hoola Health also operates a  digital platform that helps parents manage their child’s healthcare journey through features such as vaccination records, growth tracking, digital prescriptions, developmental progress monitoring, and lifelong health records.

The startup claims to have served more than 20,000 families in the last 18 months.

The development comes at a time when startups are building specialised products and services for children as a new generation of parents becomes increasingly conscious about their children’s health, nutrition and overall well-being. From healthcare and nutrition to apparel and childcare, startups are developing targeted offerings to cater to the evolving needs of young families.

For instance, Delhi NCR-based baby care quick commerce platform OZi recently raised $3.3 Mn to deliver baby products, including apparel, diapers and toys, in under 30 minutes.

Similarly, sustainable kidswear brand Kidbea raised ₹30 Cr in its Series A round to expand its retail footprint to over 100 flagship stores and enter more than 200 multi-brand outlets across India over the next 12-24 months.

The funding marks yet another addition to Peak XV’s healtech portfolio, which includes startups like Luma Fertility, Truemeds, among others.
