A Nigerian technology startup, FlashNarrative, has launched an AI-powered brand intelligence platform designed to help organisations monitor reputation, understand media narratives and make faster, data-driven communication decisions.
It was designed to challenge conventional approaches to media monitoring by combining contextual intelligence with measurable communication outcomes.
FlashNarrative helps firms identify emerging reputation risks before they escalate, particularly in highly conversational sectors such as financial services, fintech, telecommunications and consumer businesses.
This is because it monitors more than 1,000 data sources, while its AI engine analyses conversations to identify sentiment, emerging narratives, reputational risks and competitive movements.
A key differentiator is its ability to interpret local language and digital expressions, including Nigerian Pidgin, Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa-influenced expressions, as well as the code-switching, slang and cultural context common across online conversations.
This allows organisations to move beyond basic mention tracking and better understand the context behind what audiences are saying.
FlashNarrative also provides intelligence metrics including Share of Voice (SOV), Media Impact Score (MIS) and Message Penetration Index (MPI), helping communications and marketing teams measure visibility, media impact, competitive positioning and the effectiveness of strategic messaging.
The platform, co-founded by Elvis Ebenuwah, Toluwaninse Odewabi, Al-Hameen Mohammed and Michael Atuorah, combines AI, media monitoring and advanced analytics to provide companies with a clearer understanding of how their brands are being discussed across news, digital and social media.
“The future of brand intelligence goes beyond simply tracking where a brand is mentioned. It is about understanding the context behind conversations, identifying emerging shifts and translating those insights into timely, informed decisions. This is the intelligence FlashNarrative is designed to deliver,” the co-founders said.
