Estonia‑based consumer finance and fintech company Creditstar Group has secured a €4.6m hybrid equity investment from Singapore‑based private credit investment platform Kilde, valuing the business at €130m pre‑money.
The investment is structured as a convertible loan that accrues interest during the holding period and includes an option to convert into equity. It builds on a multi‑year relationship between the two firms, with Kilde previously providing Creditstar with €18.4m ($20m) in credit facilities.
For Creditstar, the funding broadens its capital base beyond retained earnings, shareholder capital and debt instruments. It will also support the company’s next phase of product expansion, including the launch of its first credit card in Estonia in 2026. The product will offer digital personal loans with flexible repayment terms, extending the group’s offering beyond instalment and revolving credit and supporting more frequent customer use and longer‑term customer value.
The investment follows a record 2025 performance. Net profit rose 86% to €13.5m, extending the group’s profitability streak to 19 consecutive years. Interest income climbed 50% to €111m, while the loan book reached €482m.
Creditstar provides digital consumer credit under the Creditstar brand through locally regulated entities in the UK and seven EU markets. It also operates Monefit SmartSaver, a digital investment platform available in 31 European countries, with customer funds helping finance the group’s consumer loan portfolio.
In January 2026, Creditstar UK received Financial Conduct Authority authorisation to operate as a mainstream consumer credit lender, enabling it to offer digital personal loans with flexible repayment terms. The approval marks a regulatory milestone for the group in one of Europe’s largest and most tightly supervised consumer credit markets.
Aaro Sosaar, founder and CEO of Creditstar Group, said: “The completion of this investment is an important milestone for Creditstar Group. We have built the business profitably over two decades, with a clear focus on disciplined growth, risk management and product development. Bringing in equity‑linked capital from an existing funding partner is a meaningful signal of confidence in our business, team and the next stage of our growth.”
Radek Jezbera, co‑founder of Kilde, added: “Our decision to back Creditstar builds on the relationship already established through our debt partnership. The group has demonstrated a combination of operational execution, credit discipline and product ambition. We see a proven business with clear room for further expansion.”
