Axe Compute is bringing its AI computing business to Brickell, with its CEO among the employees making the move from Pittsburgh.
The company’s new headquarters at 801 Brickell Avenue has room for about 20 people. Members of its leadership team will be based there at launch, and local hiring has begun, the Axe Compute team told Refresh Miami.
Several current employees, including CEO Christopher Miglino, are relocating to Miami, with more expected to follow in early 2027. “We’ve also begun hiring locally and anticipate adding roles across administration and other business functions as the company grows,” the team said. It did not share a hiring target.
Miglino became Axe’s CEO in February 2026. He previously co-founded SRAX, a fintech and data company, where he led its Nasdaq listing and built software for public companies to track and communicate with investors. He also co-founded DNA Holdings Venture, a blockchain investment firm.

Axe provides businesses with dedicated access to GPUs, the chips used to train and run AI models. It handles the design, setup, ownership, and daily operation of those computing systems across multiple locations. Customers can choose the hardware, location, and setup that fit their needs, according to the company.
For the company, which trades on Nasdaq under the ticker AGPU, the move puts its leadership closer to existing business contacts.
“Miami’s position as a major international business hub, coupled with its expanding finance and technology sectors, gives us access to a strong talent pool and brings us closer to partners, investors and customers,” the team shared.
“Being here brings us closer to our partners, gives them better international access to us,” Miglino shared in the announcement. He also cited Miami’s tax treatment as a factor in attracting and keeping staff.
The team added that many of Axe’s investors and business partners are already based in Miami. It did not name those contacts and said client relationships remain confidential.
The move comes as another Pittsburgh institution makes plans in Miami. Carnegie Mellon University announced a new campus in Wynwood last month, backed by $2 billion from Ken Griffin as part of a $3 billion gift to the university. The 35-acre campus aims to begin enrolling graduate students in 2028, pending required approvals.
For now, Axe’s Brickell office will focus on corporate leadership, sales, and business development. The team said there are no South Florida GPU or data center deployments to announce as part of the move.
Axe expects to expand its Miami presence throughout 2027.
