Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday interacted with students, teachers and parents in the second episode of Pariksha Pe Charcha 2026, which streamed on his YouTube channel. The recorded session covered exams, technology, careers and handling pressure, with the Prime Minister responding to questions from students across the country.
‘There is no fixed age… you can begin anytime’: PM Modi on startups
Speaking about entrepreneurship, Modi noted the growing interest among young people in startups and encouraged them to begin early if they have genuine interest.
“Whenever I meet young people today, many of them talk about startups. The first thing you should focus on is what you truly want to do. Some startups are based on technological innovation, building drones and new energy solutions for homes. You might know friends who are technology experts, others who understand finance. Together, you can form a small team and begin on the side. There is no fixed age, like 25 years, to start a startup. You can begin anytime, even with small ideas. If you are genuinely interested, that is a great start. Visit people who are already running startups, observe their work, and prepare a project report. Tell them you are still in school and working on a project. They will guide you. Gradually, you will gain practical knowledge about how startups work and how you can build one yourself,” he said.
He also advised students to connect with industry experts and understand how real-world work functions before starting a venture, saying such exposure provides clarity and confidence.
‘There is no need to be scared of AI’: PM Modi on technology
Responding to a question on artificial intelligence, the Prime Minister asked students not to fear technology and not to let AI or mobile phones become their “master”.
“We will have to understand technology and make sure it adds value to our work. If that happens, there is no need to be scared of AI,” he said.
‘Education and passion are not two different things’: PM Modi on learning
On balancing interests and academics, Modi encouraged students to combine their passions with studies.
“Education and passion are not two different things; both are useful. Suppose you have an interest in art and are studying a science subject that involves laboratory work and mixing chemicals. What you can do is take a sheet of paper and draw a laboratory setup. Paint the lab, label each bottle with the name of the chemical, and then illustrate what happens when certain chemicals are mixed to produce specific colours. By doing this, your artwork is completed and, at the same time, you remember the lesson better. This way, you can combine both interests effectively and learn them together in a very meaningful manner,” he said.
‘Focus on sleep and answer-writing practice during exams,’ PM advises student
The Prime Minister underlined the importance of maintaining a healthy routine during exam season, saying proper sleep helps students stay focused and stress-free. He also suggested regularly practising writing answers, noting that it improves clarity, time management and confidence during the actual examination.

Modi further spoke about discipline and motivation, saying inspiration alone cannot produce results without consistent effort and timely action. He also highlighted students’ role in building a “Viksit Bharat 2047″, encouraging responsible habits such as reducing food wastage and following basic civic behaviour. The session also stressed supporting classmates and managing exam pressure with confidence.
