Commonwealth Bank’s venture capital arm will become the main backer of a new $50 million start-up fund established by Dom Pym, a serial founder and investor who previously sold his digital bank Up to Bendigo and Adelaide Bank for $116 million.

Pym has reached the first close for Triple Bubble’s debut fund, raising more than $10 million in nine months, with a remit to invest in fintech businesses from their earliest stages to a sharemarket float. Its cornerstone investor is CBA’s venture arm x15ventures.
