The agreement was signed on April 27 at the university campus in Jodhpur. Its objective is to promote technological innovation, research and entrepreneurship in Ayurveda education while building a strong innovation ecosystem.

Taking a significant step towards strengthening Ayurveda education, research and the startup ecosystem, the Incubation Centre for Ayurveda Innovation and Entrepreneurship (iCAINE) of the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Rajasthan Ayurved University (DSRRAU).

The agreement was signed on April 27 at the university campus in Jodhpur. Its objective is to promote technological innovation, research and entrepreneurship in Ayurveda education while building a strong innovation ecosystem.

Research and Innovation to Receive a Major Boost

Under this partnership, emphasis will be placed on integrating traditional Ayurveda knowledge systems with modern science and technology. Both institutions will jointly promote research projects, innovation programmes and startup activities to develop new Ayurveda-based solutions and products.

The MoU was signed by AIIA Director Prof. (Vaidya) Pradeep Kumar Prajapati and DSRRAU Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Vaidya) Govind Sahay Shukla. Faculty members, researchers and students were also present on the occasion.

New Opportunities for Students and Researchers

Prof. Pradeep Kumar Prajapati said that the partnership is a major step towards giving Ayurveda a stronger global identity. He stated that traditional Ayurvedic knowledge would be developed into scientific, evidence-based and market-oriented innovations and startups.

He further added that AIIA-iCAINE is actively working to promote Ayurveda-based entrepreneurship and innovation across academic institutions in the country.

Focus on Innovation-Driven Learning

Prof. Govind Sahay Shukla said that this collaboration would create new opportunities for students, researchers and faculty members. Students will gain not only theoretical knowledge but also practical exposure related to innovation and entrepreneurship.

He added that the university aims to combine traditional Ayurveda knowledge with modern scientific approaches so that students can prepare themselves for future industry and healthcare needs.

Support for Startups and Entrepreneurship

Under the three-year partnership, students and participants from the university will receive mentorship, training and advisory support through structured pre-incubation and incubation programmes.

In addition, innovation workshops, idea-pitching camps, capacity-building programmes and interactions with industry experts will also be organised. This will provide students with opportunities to convert their innovative ideas into startups and business models.

Ayurveda Startup Ecosystem to Become Stronger

The partnership will also include joint ideation camps, innovation challenges and collaborative programmes aimed at promoting Ayurveda-based startups and ventures rooted in traditional knowledge systems.

The initiative is expected to create new opportunities for research, employment and startups in the Ayush sector. It will also help young people become self-reliant and globally competitive in the Ayurveda and healthcare sectors.

Support for the Vision of the Ayush Ministry

According to officials, the collaboration aligns with the broader objectives of the Ministry of Ayush to promote innovation, entrepreneurship and sectoral growth. Its goal is to create a strong and supportive ecosystem for the next generation of researchers, practitioners and innovators in the field of Ayurveda.
