Egypt Healthtech Rology Secures New Funding To Scale AI Teleradiology

Egyptian healthtech startup Rology has secured a new growth funding round backed by global healthcare leaders including the Philips Foundation, Johnson & Johnson Impact Ventures, Sanofi Global Health Unit’s Impact Fund, and MIT Solve Innovation Future.

Founded by Amr Abodraiaa, Moaaz Hossam, Mahmoud Eldefrawy and Bassam Khallaf in 2017, Rology operates an AI-powered teleradiology platform that connects hospitals to remote radiologists, easing the acute shortage across Africa and the Middle East. The cloud system requires no setup cost and has delivered over 1.3 million radiology reports to more than 300 hospitals in 13 countries.

The funding follows recent expansion into Saudi Arabia—via the acquisition of Arkan United—and Kenya, strengthening Rology’s position as a key diagnostics infrastructure layer in underserved markets.

With FDA-cleared tech offering 99.89% accuracy and up to 25% savings on reporting, Rology plans to scale AI-enabled diagnostics as imaging demand rises across MEA.
