anara impact capital secures 48 million for debut fund, ETStartup

Immuneel Therapeutics, a Bengaluru-based biotechnology firm, has successfully raised Rs 100 crore from a consortium of investors, including Singularity AMC and Rainmatter. The funding will be directed towards scaling up the manufacturing capabilities of CAR-T (Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-cell) therapy, a cutting-edge cancer treatment that utilizes a patient’s own immune cells to combat cancer.Despite its potential, CAR-T therapy has been largely inaccessible to many patients due to its high costs and intricate production processes. The company, founded by Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, is focused on making this innovative treatment more widely available. The investment reflects growing interest in the biotech sector, particularly in therapies that leverage the body’s immune system to fight cancer. However, challenges remain in terms of affordability and manufacturing efficiency, which the new funding aims to address. As the demand for advanced cancer treatments continues to rise, Immuneel’s efforts to enhance CAR-T therapy production could play a significant role in improving patient access and outcomes in India and beyond.
