Seoul FinTech Lab Takes Part in Europe’s Largest FinTech Show ‘Money20/20’ to Secure a Foothold for European Market Entry

With support for seven Seoul fintech companies to attend, the program enables discussions on global cooperation worth 12 billion won and concludes business memorandums of understanding with overseas organizations such as Switzerland’s SFTA.

Seoul FinTech Lab (Director Kim Jin-ho) supported seven Seoul-based fintech companies to take part in ‘Money20/20 EUROPE’, Europe’s largest fintech exhibition, held at the RAI Exhibition Centre in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, from June 2 to 4, laying the groundwork for entry into the European market.

Money20/20 European participation status

The participation in this exhibition was carried out to boost global market entry for Seoul fintech companies with strong technology and to identify practical opportunities to attract investment. Seoul FinTech Lab, the largest-scale domestic fintech startup support facility established by the Seoul Metropolitan Government in Yeouido, a financial district, has been actively supporting participation in exhibitions in major fintech hub countries around the world such as Singapore and Dubai every year. As of June 2026, a total of 104 companies are in residence, and the lab has delivered notable results, including reaching 68.6 billion won in total domestic and overseas sales in just this year’s first quarter.

The seven companies that took part in the exhibition held 1-to-1 business meetings on site with global financial institutions and investors, discussing in depth investment attraction and business cooperation approaches. As a result, some companies made specific progress on global business cooperation on the scale of about 12 billion won, and by building a strong network with local venture capital firms and financial institutions, they secured a practical steppingstone for future entry into the European market.

In addition to exploring overseas expansion through exhibition participation, Seoul FinTech Lab also hosted a global demo day on June 3 on site to attract global investment and expand its network. A large number of global accelerator, investor, and financial institution representatives attended the event, and the participating companies actively tested the possibilities for investment and cooperation by presenting their innovative technologies and business models.

Seoul FinTech Lab also held 1-to-1 business meetings with overseas fintech-related organizations and global accelerator representatives during the exhibition period to build local business partnerships. In particular, the lab signed business memorandums of understanding with the Swiss FinTech Association (SFTA), a leading Swiss fintech association, and with MapleWave Payment, and strengthened a solid foundation for planning and operating future global cooperation projects as a fintech incubating organization representing Korea.
