Dealroom.co | Australia’s Visaible raises $1M to help hotels win AI bookings

What’s the deal? Australian hotel-tech startup Visaible has raised about A$1 million (approximately US$1 million) in an early-stage venture round to expand its platform for hotel AI visibility and automation. Founded by Sam Rich, the company helps hotels see whether AI systems recommend them, improve how those systems describe them, and convert that exposure into direct bookings.

Why now? Travellers increasingly ask AI tools full questions — such as where to stay for three nights near transport under US$250 a night — and get back a short list of hotels in seconds. Phocuswright’s 2026 research calls the rise of AI in travel the fastest behavioural shift it has seen in a decade, with 56% of US travellers now using AI for travel.

What’s the product? Visaible’s platform tracks how hotels appear across major AI environments, including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, and Meta AI. It then flags changes that could improve visibility, accuracy, and booking potential.

What’s the endgame? The pitch is a margin case. Hotel commissions on online travel agents commonly run about 15% to 20%; Visaible puts the traditional model at 15% to 25%. When an AI assistant recommends a hotel and the guest books direct, more room revenue stays with the property.

What could go wrong? Trust still trails usage. A hotel left off an AI shortlist may never know it was missed, and even when it appears, the wording can misstate room categories, gym hours, or family facilities.

The signal: AI visibility is starting to look less like a side marketing project and more like a new layer of distribution management. Asia-Pacific enthusiasm is high — Booking.com found 95% of regional respondents excited about AI — giving startups like Visaible a fast-moving market to chase.
