GFF 2026 Day 3: BharatPeX, PayU and OneTag Spotlight the Next Phase of Digital Finance - Indian Startup Times

The third and final day of Global Fintech Fest 2026 brought the spotlight back to product innovation, with new launches spanning enterprise payments, artificial intelligence and everyday digital infrastructure.

As India’s financial ecosystem continues to move beyond basic digitisation, the latest wave of fintech products is increasingly focused on making payments more intelligent, connected and adaptable. From helping businesses manage complex payment operations to enabling merchants to participate in AI-led commerce and making FASTag more flexible, the launches on Day 3 reflected the changing expectations of India’s digital economy.

BharatPeX Brings Enterprise Payments Under One Roof

BharatPeX, the enterprise payments division of BharatPe, introduced a new payment gateway aimed at ecommerce businesses and fintech enterprises.

The platform is designed around a single integration that brings together multiple payment methods, including UPI, cards, net banking and bank transfers. Beyond payment acceptance, the gateway brings checkout, settlements, refunds, payouts and reconciliation into a unified operational environment.

One of the key features is its dynamic transaction-routing capability. The system can determine how transactions should be routed based on factors such as payment success rates and the availability and performance of acquiring partners.

For large businesses handling significant transaction volumes, this kind of infrastructure can help reduce operational complexity while improving the ability to monitor and manage payment performance.

The platform also incorporates features such as tokenisation, recurring payments, EMI options and additional payment authentication capabilities, reflecting the growing demand for payment infrastructure that can handle multiple use cases through a single technology layer.

PayU Takes Agentic AI Into Merchant Commerce

Artificial intelligence emerged as another major theme on the final day, with PayU introducing Agent HQ, an AI-powered platform designed to help small and medium businesses deploy AI agents across different business functions.

The platform is built around the emerging idea of agentic commerce, where AI systems can move beyond answering questions to helping consumers discover products and complete transactions within conversational environments.

For merchants, this represents a significant shift in how customers could discover businesses online.

Instead of relying entirely on traditional search, websites or individual apps, businesses may increasingly need their products and catalogues to be discoverable within AI-powered interfaces. Agent HQ is designed to help merchants prepare for this transition while supporting functions across areas such as sales, marketing and operations.

The no-code approach also points towards a broader trend in enterprise technology: making advanced AI capabilities accessible to businesses without requiring them to build complex technology infrastructure from scratch.

As conversational commerce develops, the intersection of discovery, decision-making and payments could become an increasingly important part of the digital commerce ecosystem.

OneTag Looks to Make FASTag More Portable

Digital innovation at GFF 2026 was not limited to fintech startups and enterprise platforms.

One of the notable infrastructure-focused launches was OneTag, a FASTag portability solution developed to make it easier for vehicle owners to switch their issuing bank without having to replace their existing physical tag.

The solution addresses a practical friction point in the FASTag ecosystem. Under the new approach, users can retain the same tag while moving to another issuer, with the tag continuing to remain linked to the vehicle.

The underlying system enables issuer information to be updated across the toll network, while the customer-facing process is supported through the existing digital ecosystem.

The move could make FASTag management more convenient for users while reducing the need for repeated physical tag issuance and onboarding.

Given the scale of India’s electronic toll collection ecosystem, even relatively small improvements to the user experience can have a meaningful impact on everyday digital transactions.

From Payments To Intelligent Financial Infrastructure

Taken together, the Day 3 launches point towards a broader evolution in India’s fintech ecosystem.

The focus is increasingly shifting from simply enabling digital transactions to building infrastructure that can make those transactions more efficient, intelligent and adaptable.

Enterprise payment platforms are looking to simplify increasingly complex payment operations. AI platforms are beginning to reshape how businesses reach consumers and manage day-to-day functions. At the infrastructure level, services such as FASTag are being redesigned around greater portability and convenience.

This evolution also reflects how India’s digital economy is becoming more interconnected.

Payments are no longer operating as standalone services. They are increasingly becoming part of broader commerce, mobility, financial management and AI-led experiences.

AI And Payments Move Closer Together

The emergence of agentic commerce could prove particularly significant for the next phase of fintech.

As consumers increasingly interact with AI systems to search, compare and purchase products, payment infrastructure will need to adapt to a world where transactions can potentially begin inside a conversation rather than on a conventional checkout page.

This creates opportunities for fintech companies to build new layers connecting merchants, consumers, AI systems and payment networks.

At the same time, the shift will require strong attention to security, authentication, consent and consumer control as financial transactions become increasingly automated.

The Next Phase Of India’s Fintech Story

The final day of GFF 2026 offered a glimpse into where India’s financial technology ecosystem could be heading next.

The emphasis is moving beyond digital payments towards intelligent commerce, seamless infrastructure and technology-led financial experiences.

For businesses, the opportunity lies in building systems that reduce friction and create more connected customer journeys. For consumers, the promise is greater convenience across everyday financial interactions.

And for India’s fintech ecosystem, the larger challenge will be to ensure that innovation continues to scale while keeping technology secure, accessible and trusted.

As payments become increasingly embedded into commerce, mobility and AI, the next generation of fintech may be defined not by how many transactions it can process, but by how seamlessly it can become part of everyday life.
