New Delhi: A Japanese parliamentary delegation currently visiting India held a series of engagements in Delhi to gain deeper insights into the country’s digital technology, higher education, research and innovation ecosystem.
During the visit, the delegation interacted with senior executives from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and researchers at the Ananta Aspen Centre, discussing developments in India’s technology and policy landscape.
The Japanese lawmakers also visited the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi), where they learned about the latest trends in higher education, research and development (R&D) in India.
The delegation showed particular interest in IIT Delhi’s startup ecosystem, especially initiatives focused on cutting-edge technologies and defence-related innovation.
The engagements provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on India and Japan’s respective strengths in technology, education, research, startups and innovation, areas that are increasingly important to the broader India-Japan partnership.
