Abdulaziz Al-Salloum Acquires 10% Stake in UAE-Based GlobalPay to Support Regional Growth and Expansion

GlobalPay, headquartered in the United Arab Emirates, has announced that Saudi technology entrepreneur and executive Eng. Abdulaziz Al-Salloum has joined the company’s shareholder base following his acquisition of a 10% stake in GlobalPay, supporting the company’s strategy for regional growth and expansion across fintech, digital payments, and integrated technology solutions.

The transaction agreements were signed in the Arab Republic of Egypt in the presence of Eng. Tamer Shawer, CEO of GlobalPay, and Eng. Abdulaziz Al-Salloum, as part of the company’s strategy to strengthen its shareholder base and add relevant technology expertise and market knowledge to support its next phase of growth.

The transaction forms part of GlobalPay’s strategy to expand its presence across financial technology, digital payments, and integrated technology solutions, while building a regional ecosystem connecting the UAE, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia and supporting the development of investments and technology solutions related to payments and fintech.

Based in the UAE, GlobalPay operates as a regional platform focused on investments and technology solutions related to payments and fintech. In Egypt, the company operates through MasrPay, which focuses on developing digital payment acceptance and management solutions for merchants and businesses.

In Saudi Arabia, GlobalPay established GlobalPay KSA – Alam Al-Dafaa, an entrepreneurial company focused on developing fintech and digital payment solutions and supporting GlobalPay’s strategy to build a long-term presence in the Saudi market while connecting its operations across the three markets.

Eng. Abdulaziz Al-Salloum brings extensive experience in Saudi Arabia’s technology and digital transformation sector. His career has included leadership of Duroob Technology, as well as serving as CEO of Saudi-based AppsPro. In 2021, Accenture announced the acquisition of AppsPro.

Eng. Tamer Shawer, CEO of GlobalPay, said that Eng. Abdulaziz Al-Salloum’s entry into the company’s shareholder base represents an important addition to GlobalPay’s journey, noting that the company is connecting what it is building in the UAE and Egypt with its plans for Saudi Arabia, while maintaining a fundamental principle that every expansion should be based on creating real value for the market and its customers rather than simply increasing its geographic footprint.

He added that GlobalPay is building a shareholder base that contributes experience and market knowledge alongside capital, supporting the company’s ability to pursue long-term growth.

Mr. Ali Taha, Chief Business Officer at GlobalPay, said the transaction represents more than an investment for the company, describing it as a partnership that can create meaningful value for the next stage of GlobalPay’s development.

He added that GlobalPay is building a regional ecosystem connecting the UAE, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia, while Eng. Abdulaziz Al-Salloum’s technology experience and knowledge of the Saudi market provide additional support for the company’s regional vision and expansion plans.
