TeamEasy Wins Seed Investment, Then Selected for TIPS to Advance Used-Car Warranty Insurance AI ‘FINCAT’

TeamEasy, developer of FINCAT, an infrastructure platform for used-car warranty insurance, has been selected for the third 2026 general track of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ Tech Incubator Program for Startup (TIPS), following a seed investment from the Korea Association of Industrial Intelligence. Through the R&D project, the company will advance a “re-identification prevention engine” that controls personal-identification risks in insurance claim and estimate documents in real time, and an “explainable AI (XAI) engine” that generates the legal and technical basis for decisions in natural language. Founded in 2022, Ulsan-based TeamEasy demonstrated FINCAT’s stability in a 2025 commissioned test under the Financial Services Commission’s financial regulatory sandbox, processing about 58,000 claims worth a cumulative KRW 19.7 billion.

A Ulsan fintech startup that brought used-car warranty insurance work—once handled manually among insurers, claims adjustment firms and repair shops—together in a single workflow has joined TIPS. TeamEasy announced on the 2nd that, following a seed investment from the Korea Association of Industrial Intelligence, it had been selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ third 2026 general track of the “Tech Incubator Program for Startup (TIPS)”.

What is it developing? “AI that explains” and “AI that protects personal information”

TeamEasy was selected following investment and a recommendation from the Korea Association of Industrial Intelligence, a TIPS operator. Its R&D project is titled “Artificial Intelligence for Explainable Decision-Making (XAI) and Assessing Personal Data Re-Identification Risks for Use in a Multilateral Operational Infrastructure for Used-Car Warranty Insurance.” The company will advance a “re-identification prevention engine” that controls personal-identification risks in insurance claim and estimate documents in real time, and an “XAI engine” that generates the legal and technical basis for key decisions in natural language.

What is FINCAT? Validated by processing KRW 19.7 billion in claims in a sandbox

TeamEasy is a fintech startup founded in January 2022 and headquartered in Ulsan. Its flagship service, FINCAT, is a collaborative infrastructure platform tailored to support used-car warranty insurance operations. It integrates decision-making processes that once moved manually among insurers, claims adjustment firms and repair shops into a single standardized workflow.

Selected in 2025 for a commissioned test under the Financial Services Commission’s financial regulatory sandbox, the company demonstrated FINCAT’s stability and effectiveness in a real-world operating environment, processing about 58,000 claims worth a cumulative KRW 19.7 billion. That year, it also earned ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environment) and ISO 27001 (information security) certifications. In 2026, it was certified as a venture business and a social venture.

Kook Sung-kwon, CEO of TeamEasy, said, “Used-car warranty insurance is an area where data and processes are highly fragmented, making standardized operational infrastructure necessary. Protecting personal information must be a prerequisite for connecting data across multiple parties, and decisions made using AI must be explainable.” He added, “Our team’s goal is to make day-to-day operations easier and ultimately bring that convenience to consumers. We’ll continue to grow steadily, building technology that supports insurance operations and earns validation in the field.”
