Indian Startup News on Instagram: “Indian AI startup Sarvam has become a unicorn after raising $234 million in the first close of a $300 million Series B funding round led by HCLTech, valuing the company at $1.5 billion. The round was led by HCLTech as a strategic investor, with Bessemer Venture Partners also backing the financing. Existing investors Khosla Ventures and Peak XV Partners participated in the round. HCLTech has committed $150 million as part of the investment. Sarvam said the funding will be used to develop next-generation AI models focused on agentic AI, coding and cybersecurity. The latest fundraise comes as Indian technology companies and investors increase their focus on sovereign AI, including foundation models and infrastructure designed for local languages, businesses and public-sector use cases. #sarvam #AI #startups #funding #unicorn #indianstartupnews”
