Fashion start-up 9 Commons dropped a collection with the Fever on Friday aiming to “merge sport and style,” according to Jean Palmieri of WOMEN’S WEAR DAILY. Founded last year by former Gucci GM of Northern Europe & Associate VP/Retail for Europe Maria McClay, 9 Commons is “dedicated exclusively to women’s sports.” The collection includes T-shirts with the “brand’s slogan — ‘All In on Women’s Sports’ — as well as hoodies, shorts, sweatpants, socks and hats with graphics and the Fever logo.” It features “long-staple cotton and bold graphics that are intended to transition from street to stadium.” McClay said that she is “currently negotiating with other professional teams and colleges for the rights to additional merchandise” (WOMEN’S WEAR DAILY, 5/18).
