Hyderabad-based fintech startup Kalpi has raised Rs 3.75 crore in a seed funding round led by Rainmatter Capital, as it looks to expand its rule-based investing platform for retail and institutional investors.
The startup said the raised capital will be used to strengthen its team, acquire datasets, improve product capabilities and widen distribution across retail and institutional segments.
Founded in 2025 by Ashwar Gupta, Kalpi develops quantitative investing tools that allow users to build, backtest, automate and execute investment strategies across equities, ETFs and mutual funds.
The startup operates through two platforms: Kalpi.ai, aimed at retail investors, and KalpiQuant.com, designed for institutional clients including portfolio management services (PMS) firms, alternative investment funds (AIFs), registered investment advisers (RIAs), brokers and family offices.
Kalpi.ai allows users to create stock baskets, analyse portfolios and invest directly through broker integrations. Meanwhile, KalpiQuant.com offers tools such as portfolio optimisation, factor analysis, risk attribution and strategy backtesting.
Its platform makes institutional-grade quantitative investing infrastructure available at a lower cost than traditional systems, the startup said.
