EA Sports has forecast that Spain will win the 2026 FIFA World Cup, extending a simulation streak that has correctly named the last four champions.
The game publisher runs a full tournament simulation using all 104 fixtures and licensed squads. It has accurately tipped the winner at every World Cup since 2010.
Spain last lifted the trophy in South Africa 16 years ago. Under manager Luis de la Fuente, they won Euro 2024, with teenage forward Lamine Yamal emerging as a breakout star. The simulation expects Yamal to be central once again.
Spain will open their campaign in Group H, where they face Cape Verde, Saudi Arabia, and Uruguay. With 32 of the 48 teams advancing to the knockout stage, even a modest points return may be enough to progress. Spain drew 1-1 with Iraq in their first warm-up fixture and play Peru next before the tournament begins.
