Open Startup has announced a new call for applications targeting innovative DeepTech and technology startups developing high-impact solutions to address Africa’s most pressing challenges.

Applications Open Startup Until July 31 for High-Impact African Ventures Across Climate, AI, Health, FinTech, EdTech, and Emerging Technologies

The initiative is seeking ambitious founders and entrepreneurs building scalable ventures across key sectors including Climate Technology, HealthTech, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Emerging Technologies, FinTech, EdTech, Logistics, Supply Chain, and other impact-driven industries.

The program is designed to identify and support startups that are leveraging technology and innovation to drive sustainable development, economic growth, and social impact across the African continent.

Eligible startups can apply through one of two dedicated tracks tailored to different stages of business development.

The Pre-Seed Track is aimed at early-stage startups that are actively building, testing, and validating their solutions. This track provides foundational support for founders seeking to refine their products, establish market fit, and prepare for future growth opportunities.

Meanwhile, the Seed Track is intended for startups that have already gained traction and are looking to accelerate growth, strengthen their market position, and connect with strategic partners, investors, and industry stakeholders.

According to Open Startup, selected ventures will participate in a regional growth program focused on enhancing investment readiness, business development, and ecosystem engagement. The initiative seeks to equip founders with the tools, knowledge, and networks needed to scale their businesses and increase their impact across Africa and beyond.

Participants selected for the program may benefit from a comprehensive package of support, including a regional training bootcamp, customized mentorship aligned with their sector and stage of growth, and opportunities for international exposure within African and global innovation ecosystems.

The program will also facilitate investor and corporate matchmaking opportunities, allowing startups to engage directly with potential investors, corporate partners, and business leaders. These connections are expected to help founders unlock new growth opportunities, strategic partnerships, and access to capital.

One of the most significant benefits of the initiative is the opportunity for selected startups to be considered for investment tickets ranging from US$20,000 to US$50,000. The potential funding is intended to help promising ventures accelerate product development, market expansion, and business growth.

Beyond financial support, startups will become part of a vibrant pan-African network of founders, mentors, investors, experts, and ecosystem builders. This community is expected to foster collaboration, peer learning, knowledge sharing, and long-term partnerships across the continent’s innovation landscape.

Open Startup stated that its mission is to help high-impact entrepreneurs sharpen their ventures, access relevant networks, strengthen their investment readiness, and move closer to achieving sustainable market success and scale.
