Octane Studios launches customizable AI dealers, starting with baccarat

The news: Octane Studios has launched a platform for deploying custom branded AI dealer games, starting with baccarat and expanding to blackjack and roulette later this summer. The studio was founded by Bernard Marantelli alongside co-founders Pierre Weller and Jeremie Vaney, with a leadership team drawn from iBankroll. Games run on a certified, provably fair RNG and can be shipped as a fully localized branded table in days, circumventing longer timelines associated with traditional dealer studio builds.

Zoom in: Octane is pitching customization at scale as its core differentiator. “Our ambition is for any brand to have access to their own custom tables,” said Octane Studios co-founder Pierre Weller. The company is actively signing across various partner types—including operators, aggregators, game studios, and streamers/influencers—with exclusive branded tables, engine licensing, and revenue-share deals respectively.

Why it matters: Octane’s launch arrives a few months after BetHog raised $10M for Sentient Studios, its own AI live-dealer platform—a sign that generated-dealer technology is moving from novelty to a contested product category fast. Both companies are chasing the same structural pitch to operators: traditional live dealer studios don’t flex with demand, and AI removes the studio buildout entirely. With Octane’s roadmap already pointing toward real-time multilingual dealer voice and eventual interactivity, the next competitive line likely isn’t just cost or speed, but how realistic and responsive these dealers can get.

Flutter’s Affiliate Draft is back in 2026—here’s what they’re looking for in the next big startup

The news: Flutter’s Affiliate Draft is back for 2026, open now through August 1, after its inaugural edition last fall drew more than 300 applicants. Run through Alpha Hub—Flutter’s startup partnership program and the front door to building on its affiliate API across brands like FanDuel, Sky Bet, Paddy Power, and Betfair—the draft shortlists founders to pitch in person at a two-day event in Dublin in October. This year’s three themes are Fan Toolkit, Community, and Betting Evolution. We chatted with the Flutter team driving the program to hear more about what they’re looking for this year in each category.

Zoom in: Community stays on the board this year but sharpens the ask: it’s no longer enough to have an audience—Flutter wants to see the system that turns one into revenue. “Building your own community gives you a huge advantage when it comes to partnerships or affiliate relationships, because now you own that user’s journey,” said Robert Fulforth, who runs FanDuel’s affiliate strategy across North America. Ed Lyttel, who heads affiliate partnerships across Flutter International, credits inaugural winner Verdict MMA’s success to conviction over category: “It was all customer first.”

Why it matters: The three themes map to where Flutter thinks the affiliate model is heading as traditional acquisition erodes—SEO diminishing in value, and PPC becoming “excruciatingly expensive.” With AI collapsing the cost of building, the differentiator is influence, Fulforth pins it on reaching a bettor “at the right time when they’re making that betting decision… while removing friction from the customer journey.” For founders who can prove their product converts, it’s the shortest path from cold outreach to a room full of Flutter stakeholders, VCs and a commercial deal with the biggest operator in the game.

Flutter’s Alpha Hub is back with the Affiliate Draft 2026, and applications are now open. The program connects founders with Flutter’s affiliate and product teams to build the next wave of sports betting experiences, this year focused on AI-powered fan tools, community platforms, and new ideas that blend sports betting with entertainment.

Selected startups get real-world pilots across Flutter brands, direct mentorship from their affiliate and product leaders, and a path to commercial partnership with one of the biggest companies in the space. Applications are free and open to teams at any stage. The deadline is August 1. Apply now.

Monster League wins FSGA pitch competition for RPG-style fantasy game

The app is a mobile fantasy football game where you draft, battle, and catch element-powered athletes called “Monsters.” The FSGA said the upstart “earned the top spot after presenting their innovative vision to attendees, taking home the audience vote and the competition title.”

Zoom in: On the win, co-founder Ben Oppenheimer gave credit to the field he pitched against, saying: “it takes a lot of courage to get up on stage and pitch something as important as a venture you’ve poured your heart and soul into. It was an honor to share the stage with you all.”
