SK Telecom will expand cooperation with domestic physical artificial intelligence (AI) startups to build a robotics ecosystem. The plan is to promote joint demonstration in industrial sites such as manufacturing, logistics, and services, and expand commercialization by combining SK Group’s AI capabilities such as AI semiconductors, data centers, and digital twins.

SK Telecom announced on the 31st that it held a “Physical AI and Robotics Startup Meeting” at SK Seorin Building in Jongno-gu, Seoul on the 30th and discussed ways to cooperate with eight domestic physical AI startups.

SK Telecom, SK Group AI Committee, SK Hynix, and SK AX officials attended the event. Eight companies participated in the startup, including Gauss Labs, Real World, Macinarax, Cimes Robotics, Woebotics, Unilobotics, Configintelligence, and Holiday Robotics.

The companies have technologies and solutions across physical AI, including humanoids and wearable robots, industrial cooperative robots, and robot foundation models (RFM). At the meeting, SK Telecom shared the direction of its physical AI business and introduced core technologies, business status, and cooperation plans of startups and held discussions.

Participants focused on ways to promote joint demonstration in manufacturing, logistics, and service industries. They also discussed ways to cooperate with SK Group’s technological capabilities, such as AI semiconductors, AI data centers, digital twins, and AI models, and start-ups’ physical AI technologies.

In particular, SK Telecom proposed building robot learning data for RFM development in a digital twin environment that virtually implements industrial sites. Participating companies will continue to expand cooperation across physical AI, such as robot hardware, data, and AI models, and create an open ecosystem together.

Yoo Kyung-sang, head of SK Telecom’s AI CIC, said, “In the physical AI industry, practical innovation is possible when the full stack AI ecosystem is organically connected from semiconductors to RFM and application services. We will expand our partnership with domestic physical AI startups to lead the development of the robotics ecosystem.”
