Indian startups raised $252 million from August 3 to August 8, 2026; River Mobility tops the list


Between August 3 and August 8, 2026, as many as 23 Indian startups from diverse sectors raised over $252.03 million in funding from investors. That is 216% up week-on-week from $79.79 million logged the previous week, when Arboreal Bioinnovations raised $24.09 million.

Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler maker River Mobility topped this week’s chart with a $120 million round from Elev8 Venture Partners and Claypond Capital, accounting for nearly 48% of the week’s total capital.

The sectors that got funded this week include EV, Legaltech, Proptech, AI, Enterprise AI, Healthtech, Fintech, Foodtech, Batteries, Concierge, Cosmetics, Quickcommerce, Marketplace, Robotics, Insurtech, Defencetech, Climatetech, Sportstech.

So far in 2026, Indian startups have raised $8.2 billion across 590 rounds. This week’s $252 million adds to that total, with only two rounds crossing the $20 million mark. Funding this year continues to come mostly through smaller, frequent rounds rather than a few large ones.

Three-week trend

Weekly funding rose sharply after two quieter weeks, from $163.96 million between July 20-25 to $79.79 million between July 27 and August 1, before jumping to $252.03 million between August 3 and 8. This week’s total is more than three times last week’s figure and the highest of the three.
