In the Second Week of August 2026, MENA Startup Investments Rise to $49.5 Million as Qatar Leads Fintech Deals | إنت عربي | entARABI


Startup investments across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region rose by $40.5 million week-on-week during the second week of August.

According to the weekly investment report published by entArabi covering the period from August 8 to 15, four announced startup investment deals totaled $49.5 million, spanning the fintech, artificial intelligence, healthtech, and gaming sectors.

Qatar Leads MENA Startup Investments

Qatar accounted for the largest share of newly announced investments during the week, representing 90.91% of total deal value.

The country led the fintech sector through Yuno, which closed a $45 million Series B funding round to support the development of AI-powered financial payments solutions.

The round was led by GlobalPayTechVentures, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Tiger Global, QuantumLight Capital, Monashees, Kaszek, and Endeavor Catalyst.

Jordan Leads Healthtech Investments

The healthtech sector, particularly mental health technology, ranked second in terms of deal value, accounting for 4.04% of total investments.

Jordan-based Arab Therapy closed a $2 million Pre-Series A funding round to expand its operations in Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern markets.

The round was led by Jordan-based Manara Ventures, with participation from Anara Impact Fund from the MENA region and Saudi Arabia-based Value Makers Studio (VMS).

Other Startup Deals

  • In Saudi Arabia, gaming studio Majestic Mind Games closed a $1.45 million investment round led by Merak Capital and Impact46, aimed at supporting the Kingdom’s gaming and digital content industry.
  • Meanwhile, UAE-based artificial intelligence company Cobi raised a $1 million pre-seed round led by Lunara Partners, with participation from Plug and Play, Annex Investments, and Spring.
