Kuwaiti Edtech Dawraty Raises $2 Million Seed Round

The institutional learning platform will use the round to expand across healthcare education, professional certification and exam preparation.

Kuwait-based education technology startup Dawraty has secured investment from Qatar Development Bank as part of a $2 million seed round, valuing the company at $10 million.

Founded by Dr. Ryan Dougherty and Hamad AlThunayan, Dawraty builds AI-powered learning infrastructure for institutions including universities, medical colleges, training academies, hospital groups, school networks and government bodies.

The platform allows organisations to deliver and track accredited learning in Arabic and English across healthcare education, professional certification and exam preparation. Dawraty enters new markets through master partnership and reseller agreements rather than selling directly to individual learners.

The company secured its first contracted institutional revenue in Qatar through a master partnership, and in September 2026 signed a reseller agreement with the Qatar Finance and Business Academy to bring its platform to students and professionals in the country’s business sector.

Dawraty currently operates across Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Jordan, with institutional partners including Kuwait University, the University of Bahrain, Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance, Belvedere Group and Johns Hopkins for continuing medical education.
