Newly established technology startup Aves plans to enter Vietnam’s fast-growing electric motorcycle market, targeting a product launch by mid-2027.

Aves was set up on September 9 with headquarters in Hanoi. The company is building teams across engineering, quality control, supply chain, and other functions as it prepares for an electric motorcycle plant and R&D center in the northern province of Hung Yen, the company said in a Monday announcement.

The startup plans to develop electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers and bicycles, although it has yet to disclose details of its planned models, production capacity, or investment for the manufacturing facility.

Aves’s planned entry into the EV market comes as demand for electric two-wheelers in Vietnam continues to accelerate.

More than 500,000 electric motorcycles were sold in the first seven months of 2026, accounting for nearly 28% of total motorcycle sales in Vietnam, according to Motorcycles Data (MD). Sales jumped more than 97% from the same period last year.

Vietnam is now among the world’s largest electric motorcycle markets, behind China and India, according to MD.

Aves said it is positioning itself as a technology company rather than solely an electric motorcycle maker.

Alongside smart electric vehicles, its business strategy includes renewable energy and Internet of Things (IoT) devices. The company said the three areas are intended to form part of a broader technology ecosystem.
